Unit 1: Focuses on building the community that is beyond important inside the classroom. This will provide a space for students to feel connected and safe enough to be vulnerable with their visual communication and in critique while still building a solid foundation for classroom management.

Unit 2: This unit can be done with cell phones, dslr cameras on auto mode, or ipads / point and shoot cameras, etc. This unit focuses entirely on Composition and the History of Photography. A very hands on unit!

Unit 3: This unit is the heart of this course and can last months if you go through each of the mini units in full.

• Mini Unit A: Exposure, Focus, and Intro to Lightrom Classic
• Mini Unit B: Aperture and Depth of Field
•  Mini Unit C: Shutter Speed and Motion Capture
• Mini Unit D: Histograms, White Balance, and ISO

The unit finishes with summative projects that ask students to showcase their understanding of each of the different controls as well as them used all together on complete manual mode. These mini units can be done with priority modes or manual mode entirely.

Unit 4: This unit is directly pulled from the Photoshop Curriculum and uses Unit 1 of that curriculum to complete the Course.

This course can last an entire school year depending on the pacing needs of your students, or can be used for a semester course if you pick pieces from each unit.

Unit 1: Focuses on building the community that is beyond important inside the classroom. This will provide a space for students to feel connected and safe enough to be vulnerable with their visual communication and in critique while still building a solid foundation for classroom management. This is very similar to Photo 1 and 2's unit plans, but includes additional teambuilding activities and corrected syllabus activities.

Unit 2: Ideally, this unit is completed with DSLR cameras as if your students have completed Photo 1 and continued directly to Photo 2, however, this unit can also be completed with Cell Phone Cameras, Ipads, or Point and Shoot Cameras. This focuses on exploring different photography genres and researching possible pathways to careers of your student's interests.

Unit 3: This unit focuses on student's ability to convey messages and stories through their images and highlights a student's ability to create a series of images. This is also where they will have opportunity to experiment with their personal style and play with printed experimentation.

Unit 4: For students or programs interested in getting Adobe Photoshop Certification, this unit focuses on Graphic Design and how Photoshop and Photography connect to Design. This unit is pulled directly from my Photoshop Curriculum's Unit 3.

Unit 5: Our final unit of storytelling and creative photoshop. This unit is mostly student led to help them develop their own portfolios. Students will spend the majority of this unit working on putting their own portfolio together, while the next unit will focus on developing the actual portfolio show.

Unit 6: In this final nit for Photo 3, students will develop their business plans, get into Social Media Marketing and will develop a portfolio show for the program.

This course is designed to last an entire school year but may also be used for a semester course if you pick pieces from each unit.
